Summer Polo

Update: May 6, 2021

For Summer 2021 Turlock High Boys Water Polo is offering a series of weekly three-day introductory water polo clinics for pre-high school aged boys and girls, both new and returning to water polo at Turlock High’s Steve Feaver Aquatics Center.

Unfortunately, we are not able to run a “united” high school boys program for Turlock and Pitman boys. Both schools will/may run their own independent summer conditioning in preparation for the Fall ’21 high school season.

The post-pandemic plan is to return to the traditional club model by Fall 2021 (for pre-high school) and Winter 2021-22 (pre-HS and high school). By Summer 2022 the goal is to be back to the same comprehensive club model we had in 2019, offering youth water polo at all levels including introductory clinics and sending teams to the national Junior Olympic championships for boys and girls.

  • Intro Clinics – 10U, 12U, 14U
  • High School Boys – 18U & 16U  (should return Winter Program ’21-’22 and Summer ’22)
  • Junior Olympics Program  (should return Summer ’22)

In 2019, our 12U and 14U coed groups traveled to weekend tournament competitions in Clovis-Fresno, Stockton, Rocklin-Sac and Santa Cruz. Prior to the spring 2020 shutdown we had been preparing to attempt qualifying a 12U coed team for the USA Water Polo (USWP) summer national championships – the Junior Olympics (JOs). For this summer 2021, we are open to participation in weekend tournaments, determined by how many interested participants we have.

Turlock United will look to participate in as many tournaments as possible during the summer. Listed below are the events TU participated in 2019 with *anticipated* dates.

For 2022, TU is looking to participate in the US National Junior Olympics which will be hosted in the Bay Area. JOs is the premier summer event for youth age-group water polo. As a national event, participation requires early commitment, extra time and additional expenses.   Click here for more on Junior Olympics
